In the early morning of 15th April 1912 RMS Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean, after four days into the ship maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City
The world’s largest passenger liner in service at the time, Titanic had an estimated 2,224 people on board when she struck an iceberg at around 23:40 (ship’s time) on Sunday, 14 April 1912.
Her sinking was two hours and forty minutes later at 02:20 (ship’s time; 05:18 GMT) on Monday, 15 April, resulted in the deaths of more than 1,500 people, which made it one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history.

Titanic was released 18th November 1997 and broke many box office records, as well as earning nominations across the board at the Golden Globes and Oscars.

Titanic found Leonardo DiCaprio played the film’s leading man, Jack Dawson.
Dawson is a third-class passenger who wins a ticket to board the Titanic from a poker game.
While on board, he falls in love with first-class passenger Rose DeWitt Bukater. Although many auditioned, DiCaprio landed the role at just 20 years old.
He is 43 years old now.
