There are in total, 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule, reported to be loyal to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike
All the 27 members have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to All Progressive Congress) APC, being the opposition party in the state
Multiple reports confirmed that they are also the affected lawmakers who initiated impeachment against Governor Sim Fubara and cited division in the PDP as a reason for their defection to APC
In other news, it was said that most of the Rivers State lawmakers have adopted a resolution condemning the withholding of funds for the Management of the House of Assembly by the state governor
Some reports have it that the Rivers State Executive Council is scheduled to meet today at noon, where Governor Siminialayi Fubara will be presiding over the meeting which will be the fifth executive council meeting.
Meanwhile, the 4th executive council meeting was held on the 27th of October where the council approved four draft bills.
